This exhibition partners the work by contemporary artist Ergin Çavuşoğlu’s single screen video, And I Awoke, presented for the first time in the UK, with the Hatton Gallery’s painting St Mark by 16th century Venetian painter Jacopo Palma il Giovane, drawing parallels between the artists’ approach to the depiction of human suffering.
