About the Gallery

Situated in the centre of Newcastle University Campus and described in recent years as ‘one of the most impressive exhibition spaces in Britain’, the Hatton Gallery has been at

The Hatton stages a highly regarded programme of historical, modern and contemporary

art exhibitions. On permanent display is Kurt Schwitters’ Merzbarn Wall , considered by many to be one of the seminal artworks of the twentieth century.

Work from the collection can be viewed by arrangement in the Archive Space.

Hazard Identification

We do not have a Risk Assessment you can download, as the Department of Education's publication 'Safe Keeping' states, ‘the group leader should carry out a risk assessment’. However each venue has a Hazard Identification Sheet which, along with your preliminary visit, will help you write your risk assessment.

The Hazard Identification Sheets can be downloaded from here. For further help please contact the venue Learning Team directly.
